I went to the Whitney Museum of American Art in NYC because I wanted to see the Hoppers in their permanent exhibition. The Whitney owns 2000(!) of Edward Hopper's works - a very exciting prospect. A friend and I headed straight for the 5th floor and worked our way around to the Hopper exhibit. Do you know how many of the 2000 works were on display?

Where are the rest, you might ask? Well, so did we....and NO-ONE could tell us. I'm guessing storage...(sighhhhhhh)
We did see some great American art though and the free audio tour is 'right on' for giving background on the artists, paintings and the era they were created in.
